Government Community of Practice


The purpose of the Government CoP is to develop talent in Government. Easy to say, a momentous challenge in practice. The Government CoP offers talent developers in the Federal, State, and Local Government a forum to explore common interests, connect and backgrounds, and:

  • Allow professionals to keep up-to-date on the latest trends in their area of interest;
  • Provide opportunities for Metro DC ATD Chapter members and potential members to learn and sharpen skills;
  • Help participants develop local contacts and network with other Government professionals and those who support Government Talent Development;
  • Facilitate discussion of best practice approaches and increase participant exposure to perspectives of others; and
  • Provide peer-group settings for deeper dives into specific areas of talent development.
