VOLUNTEERING FOR THE METRO DC CHAPTER OF ATD

Are you interested in volunteering with the Metro DC Chapter? We have a need for volunteers across all our activities in 2017, and there are ways to get involved no matter what level of time and effort you can commit. We strive to find a match between your interests and goals, and the opportunities available.

Many members say that the more involved they are with the chapter, the more they get out of their membership. The strength of our chapter is driven by the contributions of our volunteers - they not only make a difference, they make everything we do possible!

Volunteering can help you:

  • Boost your visibility and develop your professional network
  • Learn about current issues facing the industry
  • Build new skills and gain leadership experience
  • Meet new people and connect meaningfully with your colleagues
  • Give back to the Metro DC Chapter and your professional community
  • Have fun!

Whether you have only a few minutes here and there or you want to be part of an ongoing committee, there are opportunities to suit your interests and your professional goals.

Some of the ways you can volunteer include:

  • Chapter Programming (plan and run professional development events and dinner programs).
  • Communities of Practice (help operate one of our several special interest groups).
  • Virtual Programs (plan and deliver webinars to our members).
  • Marketing (research and connect with current and potential chapter partners and sponsors).
  • Membership (help make sure the Chapter is providing great value to our members).
  • Communications (help with our chapter social media venues, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
  • Special Projects (assist with one-off or ongoing chapter projects).
  • Serving on the Board.
  • And more!
