The Leadership Development CoP kicks off our 2018-2019 season with a focus on culture and employee engagement as drivers of change and organizational effectiveness.
Change is the only constant in today's workplace. Change management impacts how leaders navigate feelings that have been proven to impact engagement outcomes. Through the prism of organizational change, Russell Robinson, Senior Training and Engagement Advisor for the Program Support Center at the Health and Human Services agency, will identify practices that leaders can apply to sustain employee engagement during organizational change. Through an interactive discussion, you will consider how you can apply employee engagement practices as enablers of effective change management in your organization.
Dr. Russell Robinson is the Senior Training and Engagement Advisor for the Program Support Center, which is an office within the US Department of Health & Human Services. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor within the University of Louisville’s College of Education and Human Development. Within the federal government, he works with leaders on being strong and inspiring, selecting and developing talent and creating open and safe cultures. As a passionate champion of employee engagement, Russell has spoken at several domestic and international conferences, focusing on aspects that improve the workforce experiences for civil servants. Russell is a qualitative researcher who focuses on exploring and capturing the experiences of employees relating to engagement, voice, silence and change management within the public sector. Russell holds a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Organizational Learning from the George Washington University. He received a Master’s in Public Administration degree from American University and his Bachelor of Science in Business degree from the University of Dayton.

If you’ve been to C2 before, we’re actually in the other building—1919, which is perpendicular to 1921. We’ll be in a training center on the ground floor.
Although the address is Gallows Rd., the entrance to the building is on Boone Blvd. If you've just turned off of Rt. 7 onto Gallows Rd, with Olive Garden on your right, take the next left onto Boone Blvd., then turn right into the first driveway. 1919 is the building to the left. Parking is over to the right, and it is free.
After you enter the building, go to the left to find the training center. We’ll have signs to guide you.

Closest Metro Stop: Tysons Corner (Silver Line): You can walk through Tysons Corner mall to Route 7, cross the street, and walk to 1919 Gallows Rd (which is actually on Boone Blvd). Probably about a half-mile walk.
In addition, there’s a shuttle bus that leaves the McLean Metro at approximately 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. and arrives at Tysons International Plaza (1919 Gallows Rd) about 20 minutes later. We can coordinate rides back to the Metro after the meeting.
