Effective data visualization has the potential to influence decision-makers to improve training and development programs. Participate in an interactive overview of the New World Kirkpatrick Model Four Levels of training evaluation. Apply Kirkpatrick principles and focus on desired results to improve the design, measurements and impact. Use visualization techniques in each of the levels of the evaluation process to shape actionable data stories:

Level 1: Reaction Visualize data to Identify and address fluctuations in engagement.

Level 2: Learning Share pre/post results and debrief to boost learning.

Level 3: Behavior Frame, group and compare qualitative data in an infographic.

Level 4: Results Visualize how critical behaviors impact desired outcomes.

Giovanni Vizcardo Lazo and Ileana Fernandez will facilitate the program. Both are Kirkpatrick Silver Level Certified, have participated in the execution of program evaluation plans and look forward to sharing their experience and insights.

Join this evaluation-focused session to revisit the New World Kirkpatrick Model, apply data visualization techniques, and obtain resources to implement data-based training and development program improvements.

Presenters:  E. Giovanni Vizcardo L. and Ileana Fernandez

Giovanni started his career with the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service Institute in 2005 and applied his international expertise as a Language and Culture Instructor in the Spanish and French Sections. Prior to his federal career, Giovanni majored in Journalism at the University of San Martín de Porres, Peru. He holds dual Masters, one in Language Instruction from the University of Barcelona, and a second Masters in Instructional Design Technology from George Mason University. Giovanni continues to tap his international background as a columnist for Hispanic media in D.C. and TV International Correspondent for Peruvian Media. He has exercised his technical savvy at Apple’s Genius Bar and enjoys playing guitar.

Ileana draws on 15+ years of experience as an instructional designer, classroom, online trainer, and innovator who transitioned from private sector training and development to the public arena. At the Leadership and Management School of the Foreign Service Institute, Ileana collaborates with leadership development specialists, instructional designers and technology experts to design and deliver the Department’s mandatory leadership training. Ileana holds a Master’s in Instructional Design Technology and E-Learning Graduate Certificate from George Mason University. She is a Power ATD Member active in the DC ATD Chapter. Ileana enjoys visual arts and often volunteers as an art docent.

Please note: this is a virtual meeting through Zoom. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. with informal networking until around 6:15 p.m. when the evening's formal program begins. The presentation ends at 7:15 pm and the speaker will provide 15 minutes for Q&A.
