Virtual Events Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Programs

Purpose: Plan and execute chapter’s virtual networking events, with a specific focus on the attendee experience, and serve as co-host for other virtual programs

Term: One Year

Monthly Commitment: 10 hours

Responsibilities: The Virtual Event Coordinator is responsible for planning and execution of Metro DC ATD chapter’s five virtual networking events. Additionally, this position will work with the chapter Director of Volunteering and Outreach to ensure no events overlap with other educational programs. 

  • In charge of the chapter’s virtual networking events
  • Design and manage the execution of engaging virtual events once a month
  • Coordinate and act as point person for all virtual events
  • Submit event form to VP of Marketing for promotion
  • Work closely with communications team to ensure happy hours are well attended
  • May work with other volunteers as needed
  • Manage budget for any associated costs for virtual networking happy hour events
  • Attend planning meetings on an as-needed basis

  • Skills in creative virtual event design and format
  • Ability to act with initiative and hold self accountable for accomplishing tasks and goals independently
  • Willingness to grow and learn new skills with enthusiasm
  • Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate activities required by the position
  • Ability to complete projects with established timeframes
  • Ability to delegate tasks and monitor follow-through
  • An excellent, open, articulate, and personable communicator with diplomatic and persuasive communication skills
  • Proficient in technology tools such as Zoom and the Google Suite of products
  • Knowledgeable of Metro DC Chapter ATD
