Director of Communications

Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Purpose: Manage the strategy & execution of the chapter’s external communications

Term: 1 year

Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per month


  • Beltway Bulletin & weekly communications sent to the chapter mailing list
  • Regularly review communications efforts, analyze appropriateness and membership response, and make changes to strategies as needed
  • Recruit, manage and provide oversight to volunteers/coordinators/vendors that support communications efforts
  • Define and implement branding standards to ensure consistency across portfolios
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing and Communications to ensure the Chapter is represented in a united branding front

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated use of technology and newsletter design, and other content creation tools
  • Ability to develop, manage, and execute a strategic communications plan
