Director of Programs

Reports to: Vice President of Programs and Communities

Purpose: Manage program calendar for the Chapter

Term: 1 year

Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per month

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination of in-person and virtual programs, and networking events by managing the efforts of volunteers in recruiting speakers and developing topics
  • Coordinate programs by recruiting speakers, developing topics, and handling event logistics
  • Gather feedback from participants and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate with the chapter admin to finalize venue & catering contracts; handle registrations, payments, etc.
  • Manage communication for all events in coordination with VP of Marketing & Director of Communications & the chapter admin
  • Coordinate with Director of Volunteering to secure volunteers for all events
  • Ensure execution of all activities during in-person and virtual events (e.g. addressing speaker needs and facility issues, introducing the speaker) by self or designee
  • Lead committee to plan and execute the chapter’s Employee Learning Week activities in December
  • Manage programming budget and portfolio procedures

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to plan and organize meetings. Meeting planning experience is not required
  • Strong creativity to select interesting topics and formats
  • Willingness to reach out to potential speakers outside of one’s network and ask them to speak at a meeting
