For more than 65 years, the Metro DC Chapter of ATD has proudly provided talent development professionals with learning opportunities, networking, and resources to help them create a world that works better. With more than 400 members in the Washington, DC area, we are strengthened by professionals who specialize in all aspects of talent development. Whether you work for a large company, a small non-profit, or are employed as an independent contractor, and whether you are brand new to the industry or have decades of experience to share, we know you'll find your professional home with Metro DC ATD.
The DC Metro Chapter is being recognized as one of the top three CARE-achieved chapters for the highest percentage of joint membership.
The DC Metro ATD chapter is being recognized for that the value it provides to our members through well run chapter programs, services, and exceptional operations as the result of the individual time, resources, innovation, thought, and dedication that it contributed in 2020.
The DC Metro ATD Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) was recognized for its submission to the ATD “Sharing Our Success” (SOS) program. The national SOS program identifies best practices among local ATD chapters and uses them as models for other chapters. The chapter was recognized for its Virtual Networking Happy Hour Series implemented as a result of the pandemic.

More than 50% of our chapter's members are Power Members, and we have been recognized as Membership Super Stars for 2020.

Our Vision is to be the premier association for workplace learning and talent development professionals in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. We want to build a stronger presence with the DC Metro Talent Development and Learning Professional communities. To achieve this we will continue to expand our reach through offering quality programs, networking events and partnering with other learning organizations.
Our Mission is simple – to provide quality programming, networking and learning events for our membership, thereby increasing its impact in the local talent development community.
The Chapter is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and may make expenditures for one or more of these purposes. Without limiting or expanding the foregoing, the Chapter’s specific purpose shall be to promote the education, development, and professional standards of personnel who work in the field of workplace learning and talent development.
