Networking & Events Committee

Purpose: The Networking & Events Committee Volunteer will support the planning, preparation, and hosting of various events organized by the DC Chapter of ATD.

Reports to: VP, Chapter Networking

Term: 1 Year

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per month

Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with other committee members to plan and organize networking opportunities and events.
  • Assist with the logistics of both virtual and in-person events.
  • Host or co-host events (virtual or in-person) as schedule allows.
  • Support event promotion and registration processes.
  • Contribute to brainstorming and implementing creative event ideas.
  • Help ensure the smooth execution of events on the day of.

Training/Support: 

  • On-the-job support from the committee chair and fellow members.
  • Guidance on event planning best practices and ATD DC Chapter’s event standards.
  • Training on virtual event platforms if required.
  • Opportunities to shadow or collaborate with experienced committee members

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Friendly, positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Event planning experience (preferred but not required).
  • Comfortable with technology and Zoom for hosting virtual events (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to be a leader and host events as required.
