Membership Engagement & Communications Support (Volunteer)

Purpose: The Membership Engagement & Communications Support Volunteer will play a key role in strengthening the chapter’s connection with its members. This role focuses on managing and engaging the chapter’s private LinkedIn membership group, elevating member voices through Membership Spotlights, and supporting communications related to membership activities

Reports to: VP, Branding and Influence

Term: 1 Year

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per month

We are seeking a proactive, relationship‑oriented communicator who enjoys engaging with online communities, highlighting member achievements, and supporting a welcoming, connected chapter culture. Ideal candidates have experience in social media management, community engagement, or communications — and a passion for talent development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and engage the chapter’s private LinkedIn membership group.
  • Encourage interaction by responding to comments and fostering peer connection.
  • Draft spotlight features for the newsletter and LinkedIn.
  • Highlight member achievements and professional journeys in alignment with chapter brand voice.

  • Support messaging around membership benefits, renewals, and engagement opportunities.
  • Contribute membership‑related content for newsletters and community updates.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Branding & Influence and VP of Membership and Volunteering to ensure alignment with chapter priorities.

DELIVERABLES: The volunteer will drive increased engagement within the private LinkedIn membership group, produce regular Membership Spotlight features for the newsletter and social channels, and deliver a monthly activity summary highlighting key metrics and accomplishments. They will also ensure all membership‑focused content is consistent, high‑quality, and aligned with the chapter’s brand standards.

Qualifications: We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people online and is willing to learn as they go. Helpful skills include strong written communication, comfort engaging in online conversations, and an interest in creating member‑focused content. Curiosity about social media tools or analytics platforms is a plus, but not required. Most importantly, the volunteer should be self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently while growing their skills over time.
