Events Greeter

Reports to: Director of Programs

Purpose: Be the “connector” who ensures in-person event participants are engaged and meeting new colleagues

Term: One Year

Monthly Commitment: < 10 hours

Responsibilities: The Events Greeter is responsible for ensuring a positive and interactive experience for attendees of in-person events. 

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event’s start to assist with logistics and setup as needed
  • Greet each guest and/or be out in the reception area prepared to “break the ice” with attendees as they arrive
  • Ensure there are no “wallflowers” at the event
  • Assist with networking and other event activities as needed
  • May work with other volunteers as needed
  • Attend planning meetings on an as needed basis
  • Provide feedback to improve engagement and offer creative ideas for future programs
  • Assist chapter administrator with registration logistics on-site as needed


  • Positive, upbeat, and welcoming disposition
  • High Emotional Intelligence
  • An excellent, open, articulate, and personable communicator with diplomatic and persuasive communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Google suite of products
  • Knowledgeable of Metro DC Chapter ATD
