Operations & Development | Vice President of Learning Initiatives 

Overview: The Vice President of Learning Initiatives advances Metro DC ATD's professional development mission by delivering high-quality learning experiences that position the chapter as a recognized learning leader in the region. The role provides strategic leadership for the chapter's learning portfolio, ensuring programs align with member needs, industry trends, and the chapter's strategic plan.

Reports to: President

Term: 1 Year

Time Commitment: 15-25 hours per month

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the strategic direction, planning, and continuous improvement of the chapter's learning and professional development portfolio.
  • Oversee key learning programs and events, including the Chapter Speaker Series, Mid-Atlantic Webinar Series, Employee Learning Week (ELW), CDI Coaching Program, Mentorship Program, CPTD Study Group, and Communities of Practice.
  • Collaborate across Board portfolios to align learning initiatives with member needs, sponsorship opportunities, chapter events, and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor participation, satisfaction, learning outcomes, and industry trends to recommend improvements and ensure the long-term sustainability of the chapter's educational offerings.

Board Terms / Participation

  • One-year board term with eligibility for extension in alignment with chapter bylaws.
  • Attend at least two (2) chapter events per quarter. 
  • Participate in board collaboration, governance reviews, and portfolio reporting activities.
